The Gundersen Lutheran--Decorah Clinic has a new nurse practitioner.  Danielle Bakewell has joined Gundersen in family medicine.

Bakewell is a native of Monona and a 2001 graduate of MFL/Mar-Mac High School.  She received her associate's degree in Nursing from Northeast Iowa Community College in Calmar; her bachelor's degree in the Science of Nursing from Upper Iowa University in Fayette; her Master's Degree in the Science of Nursing from Clarke College in Dubuque; and will receive a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Clarke later this year.

"I grew up receiving care at the Gundersen Lutheran Clinics and am excited to now have the opportunity to provide that care for my neighbors," Danielle said.  "I am looking forward to building long lasting relationships with my patients and caring for them at all stages of life."

Danielle will see patients of all ages but has a strong interest in Women's Health.

She and her husband, Paul, moved back to the area to take over the family farm in Waukon. Paul is also a teacher at Turkey Valley and South Winn Community Schools.
