DVD release announced for "Finding John Smith," a movie made in part by a Decorah native

Smart House Films announced Wednesday that it would release the movie "Finding John Smith" on Blu-ray and DVD on October 16th.

The movie is produced in part by MIssissippi Films, a company for which Decorah native Tim Anderson is an executive.

"Finding John Smith" follows a young Iraqi girl who escapes her war-torn village and heads to the United States with two American Journalists where together they search for her dad, whom she's never met and who she only knows as "John Smith from Iowa."

"Finding John Smith" is the latest film from Mississippi Films, which has also produced "Beneath the Mississippi," "Drop Gun" and Aaseamah's Journey."

In addition to co-producing "Finding John Smith," Anderson was one of three writers of the movie.
