County supervisors get information about Wellington Place North Building demolition and asbestos removal costs

Winneshiek County supervisors now have a better idea of what it would cost to remove asbestos from the Wellington Place North Building and what it would cost to tear down the building.

Supervisor John Logsdon reported on Monday that the county has received a bid of $14,230 to remove asbestos from the building.  In addition, another bid on demolition costs placed the project at $25,000 plus another $24,000 in landfill charges.

Supervisors say they will hold a public hearing on the North Building--possibly as soon as next Monday.
