The Decorah Fire Department was called out to a house fire on Mound Street at 7:15 Sunday night.
Heavy fire was coming from two upstairs windows of a duplex at 407 Mound Street when firefighters arrived. Firefighters put out the fire, but there was smoke and heat damage to the upstairs apartment and smoke and water damage to the downstairs apartment.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. The damage amount is undetermined at this time. No injuries were reported.
Decorah firefighters spent two hours on the scene. They were assisted by Winneshiek Medical Center Ambulance, Decorah Police Department, Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department, Tri-County Chapter of the American Red Cross and Alliant Energy.
