Nine Winneshiek County Century farms will be recognized at Iowa State Fair

The Iowa Department of Agriculture and the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation will honor 9 Winneshiek County farms at the Iowa State Fair.

The Century Farm ceremony is held to honor families who have owned Iowa farmland for 100 years or more.

Those being recognized are Merlin and Alice Bentley; Loren and Janine Brandt; Carol Dowe; Paul and Kathy Gnade; Leland and Connie Hovey; Larry and Sandra Rothmeyer; Bruce Sersland; Todd and Paula Snell; and Dorthy Walters, Rodney Walters, Gary Walters and Kevin Walters.
