Vision Iowa Board extends the deadline for completion of the Trout Run Trail

The Trout Run Trail originally faced a completion deadline of July 31st in order to qualify for the funds it received from the Vision Iowa program.  But City of Decorah officials recently traveled to a meeting of the Vision Iowa Board and have won an extension to December 31st for trail completion.

It's expected they won't need that much time.  The trail should open informally by the end of August.  An official Trout Run Trail dedication ceremony is being planned for Sunday, September 23rd.  The event will include a ceremony to dedicate one of the art pieces on the trail, followed by an official dedication around 3:30 p.m. at Decorah High School.
