Winneshiek Medical Center board may vote soon on extending the hospital's Management Services Agreement with Mayo Clinic Health Systems

decorahnews.com has learned the Board of Trustees of Winneshiek Medical Center could be asked as soon as August 8th to vote on an agreement to extend the hospital's Management Services Agreement with Mayo Clinic Health Systems.

The agreement provides that the top four administrators at WMC are Mayo employees, giving day-to-day control of the hospital to Mayo.

decorahnews.com has learned that attorneys for both organizations have been working on contract language in recent months.  The terms of the contract extension have not been disclosed yet, although previously hospital board members were discussing a ten year extension.
