Local Girl Scouts are collecting school supplies for donations

Members of Decorah Girl Scout Troop 253

Decorah Girl Scout Troop 253 is collecting new or good used school supplies that will be distributed by Northeast Iowa Community Action Corporation's Family Service office to families in need in the area.
 
Donation boxes are being set up at churches and banks, as well as at Donlon's Pharmacy and at The Family Table for the community to drop off items.  Girl Scouts will be collecting supplies up until August 30th.
 
Cash donations or supplies also can be dropped off or sent to NEICAC's Winneshiek County Family Service office at 305 Montgomery Street in Decorah.  Donations sent to that location will be accepted after August 31st.
