NICC receives Rural Business Enterprise Grant

The Northeast Iowa Community College Foundation has received a $44,000 Rural Business Enterprise Grant to support a technical assistance outreach program for small businesses in eight northeast Iowa counties, including Winneshiek County.

The funds will assist small and emerging businesses in Northeast Iowa by increasing the workshop and seminar opportunities for small businesses and by increasing one-on-one business counseling sessions for business owners. Portions of the grant funding and a grant match will go toward professional consulting assistance for business owners in cities with populations of 5000 or less.

Additionally, the NICC Foundation and Northeast Iowa Business Network provided $45,000 in matching funds to help the new program meet its goals.
