Mayo Clinic Health Systems officials will discuss the delivery of health care in northeast Iowa at a free forum at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Hotel Winneshiek in downtown Decorah.

"Health care is undergoing a cultural change on the national level, regional level and here at home," says Winneshiek Medical Center Chief Medical Officer Dr. Susan Halter.  "As health care reform evolves, we must look at how we can sustain and grow local services to ensure Winneshiek Medical Center is here for future generations."

The forum will feature Mayo Clinic Health System chief executive officer Dr. Robert Nesse, Mayo Clinic Health System Franciscan Healthcare Chief Executive Officer Dr. Tim Johnson and internal medicine physician Brian Dougan from Decorah.

The panel will discuss the decisions regarding the Gundersen Lutheran Health Plan and how to keep the community's medical center healthy.  A question and answer session will follow the presentation.
