The condition is improving of a Decorah woman who was seriously injured in an accident in Spring Grove last month that claimed the life of another woman

Pearl Faldet was a passenger in a car driven by her sister, Elizabeth Faldet of Decorah, that was struck from behind by a pickup driven by 79-year-old Alvin Darling of Decorah June 26th on Highway 44 near Spring Grove..

The accident claimed the life of former Decorah resident Martha Meade and sent Pearl Faldet to Gundersen Medical Center in La Crosse, where she was listed in critical condition.

However, Pearl Faldet has improved enough since June 26th that she now has been discharged from the hospital.  She is currently at an inpatient rehab facility in La Crosse, doing intense physical and vocational therapy.

Doctors say Pearl has improved so much that she will be back at home in Decorah, maybe even this week.
