Winneshiek True Value in Decorah is helping two schools in Postville have a brighter future--literally. The store has given 40 gallons of paint to John Mott High School and Cora B. Darling Elementary-Middle School.
The high school is using the paint to give their library, entrance and hallway areas a much needed makeover. The elementary-middle school is using the paint for their library and learning center.
Winneshiek True Value owner Pete Marsing said, "The donation will not only save the schools money, but more importantly will create an environment that fosters learning, inspires creativity and builds community." Added Marsing, "While Winneshiek True Value provided the paint, brushes, rollers, tape and tarps, the Postville students, parents and district staff provided their time and energy in cleaning and preparing the areas for paint, then we all came together for the painting...this is what it's all about, a community project done by the community for the community."
