Heat wave continues

Posted: Wed, Jul 4, 2012 5:43 PM

Sunday's high temperature in Decorah was 91 degrees.  Monday's high temperature was 93 degrees.  Tuesday's high temperature was 95 degrees and Wednesday's was 97 degrees.

But the National Weather Service Office in La Crosse says this pattern might be broken on Thursday--when the temperature is predicted to reach 102 degrees.

The NWS says the "dangerous" heat will continue through the rest of the work week.  The combination of high temperatures and high humidity will result in Heat Index values of up to 115 degrees.

Weather forecasters are warning the public to take frequent breaks if they are outdoors. They also stress the importance of staying hydrated.
