Decorah Police warn of phone scams

Decorah Police are reminding the public that there are plenty of scams going around--by mail, e-mail, phone calls and otherwise.

Police are reminding the public to never give out any personal information, especially bank account information.  Police say banks do NOT call asking for account information--they already know this information.  Therefore, any such call is a scam.

If someone calls to tell you that you have won something, if you have really won, you should NEVER have to send any money.  DO NOT send any money--no matter what they are telling you.
