Solar field off Pole Line Road

Luther College has several major project going on this summer, some of which impact on travel next to campus.

Electrical Transmission Line Right-Of-Way Maintenance

ITC (International Transmission Company, a transmission lines provider for Alliant Energy company) has contracted a tree service to clear the trees and brush on an electrical transmission line right-of-way on the boundary of Luther College campus property above Hickory Ridge Woods.

Brush and trees in the 100-foot right-of-way will be cut down and shredded as part of right-of-way maintenance to prevent power outages caused by tree limbs contacting overhead power lines.

Solar Panel Field Construction

Construction is underway on the solar panel field on Luther property adjacent to the Pole Line Road. Foundation work was completed last week, and the crew has started erecting the solar panels.

The trenching and transmission lines are completed, and the solar panel racks are prepared for solar panel installation. Work will continue for the next two weeks.

Road Construction

The intersection of North Street and Riverview Drive will be closed beginning Wednesday, June 27 for a street construction project. The City of Decorah has hired a contractor to re-configure the roadway and sidewalk at the intersection, and reconstruct the storm sewer.
A section of Riverview Drive will be closed, but Dike Road will remain open. Expected completion date is Aug. 3.
