Dr. David Heine wins recognition for his use of electronic medical records

Family Care Clinic physician Dr. David Heine has been recognized by the Telligen Iowa Health Information Technology Regional Extension Center for his leadership in the nationwide transition toward electronic health records.

The government is trying to get all health providers to use electronic health records.  The Telligen award recognizes Dr. Heine for being a leader in Iowa in successfully implementing electronic health records. 

Telligen says Dr. Heine is one of the few rural family physicians in the Midwest to have already implemented all of the measures recommended by the government and calls him a leader in healthcare technology and patient care.

"The EMR (electronic medical records) we use is fundamental in my practice and I place a lot of emphasis and importance on its functionality in the overall care for my patients," Dr. Heine says.
