Decorah eagle cam getting ready to shut down for the year

Posted: Sun, Jun 24, 2012 9:29 PM

The Raptor Resource Project will take its Decorah bald eagle webcam offline some time around the end of this week.

In the meantime, this year's three bald eagle chicks have begun fledging--or getting practice in flying and leaving the nest.

But RRP Director Bob Anderson notes, "They'restill being fed by the parents, so whenever one of the parents brings a fishback to the nest, all the babies scramble back...the first one back usually gets the trout."

"We're going to be seeing less and less of the birds oncamera in the next few days," says Anderson.
