Ask Mr. Answer Person: Is the shallow end of the Decorah Pool open to parents and young kids at 5:30 p.m.?

Brian e-mails Mr. Answer Person: Ask Mr. Answer Person: Do you think Decorah Park-Rec would consider allowing young children (under the age of 6) to be accompanied by an adult to swim from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.?  For a parent who works until 5:00 p.m. and has young kids, it isn't possible to take them swimming during the week.

Mr. Answer Person turned to Decorah Park-Rec Director Rick Edwards, who had this answer: "We do have lessons that start at 5:40 p.m.  This is our most popular lesson time, and the classes are the first to fill.  During that time we have Level 1 thru 4 lessons happening.  These are the beginner lessons, and they use the more shallow area of the pool.

On days that we don't have lessons the pool is open during this time period."

There you have it, Brian.  You could visit www.decorahia.org for a complete schedule of when the pool is open to young children at 5:40 p.m., or you could figure it out from this list of when swim lessons take place: June 18-21; June 25-28; July 9-12; July 16-19; July 23-26; July 30-August 2
