Construction crews at Decorah High School have been working 10-hour days and have also been working on weekends in order to insure that the construction project remains on schedule.
The new high school office space must be ready for use as of July 23rd. Then when students head back to classes on August 15th, the first and second floor classrooms, VoAg classroom, metals shop and media center all must be in usable condition.
Decorah High School Director of Buildings and Grounds Greg Schaller says "There's a sense of urgency" on the part of the workers.
Decorah school board members toured the high school project on Monday afternoon. Afterward they discussed several aspects of the construction project, including the west entry area of the high school.
