More changes due this week for Short Street construction project

The Short Street construction project is in full swing in Decorah.

Monday will see the contractor possibly working on the storm sewer at Mechanic and Short Streets--if materials arrive on Monday. There will be grading work beginning then also.

Tuesday will see rerouting of Short Street traffic for one day north onto Division Street to Sanford, with a three-way stop; then east on Sanford through a four way stop at Mill Street, back to Mechanic Street.  This will allow the contractor to complete water main connections to existing service at the Mill Street and Short Street intersection.

Wednesday morning the contractor will revert the detour back to the current configuration.  Storm sewer work and grading/rocking will continue for the remainder of week.

Work also will continue on utilities on the southern parts of the project corridor throughout the week.
