Decorah firefighters called to field fire on Saturday

A passing motorist noticed smoke coming from a field at 2827 Bluffton Road around 5:00 p.m. Saturday.

Decorah firefighters were called to the scene and found approximately one acre of grass burning.  Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire, which appears to have started from a smoldering pile of wood.

Windy conditions fanned the fire and caused the fire to spread.  No damage or injuries were reported.
