Iowa Department of Agriculture is now analyzing samples from Luther herbicide spraying

Herbicide spraying signs were posted near the college's Sustainability House solar project

The Iowa Department of Agriculture has taken samples of areas sprayed by a lawn care company hired by Luther College, looking for evidence that the spraying was done in such a way that the herbicide drifted into areas it should not have been in contact with.

A Department of Agriculture spokesperson says the samples taken by a Department of Agriculture inspector are at the state agency's lab.  The spokesperson says this is the busy time of the year for the lab, so it will likely take a few weeks before results are known.
