Decorah firefighters called to dumpster fire Thursday night

The Decorah FireDepartment was called out around 9:30 Thursday night for a report of a dumpster on fire behind 111 Winnebago Street in downtown Decorah.

Upon arrival of the fire department found alarge dumpster behind the building was on fire.  The dumpster wasquickly extinguished.  Its contents included discarded building material from a localrenovation project.  The cause of the fire is undetermined at thistime.   Minor damage was noted to the dumpster. 

The FireDepartment was on the scene for about 30 minutes and was assisted by theDecorah Police Department.
