May temperatures in Decorah were 5.8 degrees warmer than normal. That means the last eight months have had temperatures above normal and 11 out of the last 12 months.
Decorah weather observer Richard Bernatz says just 6 Mays have been warmer, with 110 Mays cooler, based on 117 years of recorded temperatures in Decorah. Bernatz says 24 out of 31 days in May had above average high temperatures.
Decora received 3.69 inches of rain in May--just about half an inch less than normal. But precipitation has been just about normal over the last eight months.
