The next Director of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources could very well be former Decorah State Representative Chuck Gipp.
Current DNR director Roger Lande resigned on Friday. Governor Terry Branstad said he would name a new director later.
Speculation in Des Moines is that the new director will be Gipp, who led soil conservation work at the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship before joining DNR as the agency's Deputy Director.
Lande told the Des Moines Register, "I think it's an easy guess who will be the next director, but I don't know who the next deputy will be."
