Holiday gas prices decline

The Memorial Day Weekend is usually the time of the year when gas prices start to rise because of increased demand.

But this year's Memorial Day Weekend will be different.  The average price of a gallon of gas has fallen 25 cents in the last month or two in Iowa.  The Iowa/Minnesota AAA says gas prices now average $3.47 per gallon for mid-grade, ethanol-blended gasoline.  A gallon of gas was selling for $3.44 in Decorah on Thursday, and was at $3.28 in Cedar Rapids.

If you're driving out of state, gas prices should be lower to the west and higher to the east.  Illinois gas prices on Wednesday averaged $4.04 for a gallon of mid-grade gasoline.
