Luther College student arrested for public intoxication

"Don't drink and drive" is sound advice for those on bicycles as well as for those driving cars.

Decorah Police dsay 21-year-old Micah Ballew of Milwaukee, Wisconsin was arrested on public intoxication charges when he attempted to ride his bike down the stairs at the Luther Student Union.  Ballew crashed and struck his head on the floor, causing significant head injuries.  He was taken to Winneshiek Medical Center for treatment.  He was released after being treated--but then was arrested and jailed on public intoxication charges.
