Two car accident sends two people to the hospital

A two-car accident on Highway 9 at Bluegrass Drive in Decorah on Thursday afternoon sent two people to the hospital.

Police say 22-year-old Sulekha Ahmed of Postville crossed the center line in her car and struck a car driven by 68-year-old Janet Nuebauer of Cresco.

Both cars were totaled.  Fosiya Salim, a passenger in Ahmed's car, was taken to Winneshiek Medical Center by ambulance.  Elaine Gaul, a passenger in Neubauer's car, was taken to Winneshiek Medical Center by police car.

Ahmed was cited for Driving Left of the Center Line.
