American Legion Post 163 and  VFW Post 1977 have announced that SFC Gregg Campbell will be the speaker for the Memorial Day ceremony at the Courthouse May 28th.
.
Campbell has served in the United States Army Reserves for just over 16 years.  The first ten years were spent in Bravo Company, 389th Engineers, in Decorah.  During that time he went on deployments to Germany, Central America and Iraq.  Campbell then transferred to the 1-340th Training Support Battalion where he served as a Training Coordinator, including an 18 month Active Duty tour at Ft. McCoy, Wisconsin.

SFC Campbell rejoined the Decorah unit, now the 322 Engineer Company, just in time to deploy with them to Afghanistan.  He says he is very proud of the soldiers from Decorah he served with and hopes to return to the 322 EN CO to finish up his military career someday down the road.

Upon returning this past January, SFC Campbell was assigned to the 12-104th Training Regiment, an Engineer Schoolhouse, in Sioux Falls, SD.

The Memorial Day ceremonies will start at 10:00 a.m. with a parade beginning on the College Drive Bridge, traveling down Water Street, to State Street, to Main Street and ending at the Courthouse, where the ceremony will be held.
