Six Winneshiek County high school seniors--Kim Keck, Jennifer Monroe, Liz Brandt, Kara Moore, Savana Novak and Daniel Holthaus--are getting some help to go to school. The Winneshiek Medical Center Auxiliary has awarded scholarships to the students to help them pursue health care professions.
Kim Keck of Decorah, Jennifer Monroe of Castalia, Liz Brandt of Fort Atkinson, and Daniel Holthaus of Ossian are all majoring in nursing at Northeast Iowa Community College. Kara Moore of Calmar is majoring in health information technology and medical transcription at Northeast Iowa Community College. Savana Novak of Ridgeway is attending the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy.
The Winneshiek Medical Center Auxiliary offers their annual Health Career Scholarship to residents of Winneshiek County pursuing a health care profession. The applicant must be accepted into an accredited health career program to be eligible. Proceeds from the Auxiliary's bakeless bake sale, spring brunch and holiday cookie sale went toward the 2012 scholarship fund.
