Steve Belay appointed to Iowa Association of Mediators board

Decorah Attorney Steve Belay has been appointed to serve on the Board of the Iowa Association of Mediators for 2012-2013.  Belay is certified as a mediator in GeneraL Civil Mediation and Divorce and Family Mediation.  He is a member of the Iowa Association of Mediators and serves as its Legislative Chair.  Belay is also a past chair of the Iowa State Bar Association Family and Juvenile Law Section, and he is currently serving his second term on the Board of Governors of the Iowa State Bar Association.  Belay is an advocate for the alternative resolution of conflicts through mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.  The mediation format is determined by the parties and can take place in traditional caucus, facilitative or transformative styles, again determined by the parties.
