City of Decorah wants to fix Steyer Bridge

The City of Decorah will apply for a grant to help pay for$75,000 in repairs to the Michael Steyer Bridge.  The bridge is located onTwin Springs Road underneath Highway 52, over a creek.

City Engineer Lindsay Erdman says the arch of the bridge isin pretty good shape, but a number of other stones need replacement

The Michael Steyer Bridge is on the National Register ofHistoric Places.  It is named after a stonemason who was the brother ofthe person for whom the Steyer Opera House was named.
