Waterville man trapped by fallen tree

Winneshiek County Sheriff's Deputies were called to the woods at 2523 155th Avenue in rural Decorah on Tuesday afternoon when they received a 9-1-1 call of a man being trapped under a fallen tree.

Authorities found Daniel Jones of Waterville trapped under the tree.  They freed him and called the Gundersen Medlink Air Helicopter, which took him to Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, where he is listed in critical condition.

The Decorah Fire Department, Jaws of Life unit, Winneshiek County Ambulance Service and Paramedics and Iowa State Patrol assisted the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office.
