Northeast Iowa Community College, Iowa Workforce Development and area companies are introducing a new welding certificate program to address skilled worker needs in the area
Up to 20 registered individuals will attend an orientation on Wednesday at the NICC Cresco Center to learn more about the welding profession, meet participating company representatives, tour facilities and learn about the application process for acceptance into the program. Through the application and interview process, 12 individuals will be chosen to participate in the welding training program.
The demand for welders is high, and technical training provides students with improved opportunities and career progression. Alum-Line, Featherlite and McNeilus have partnered with NICC to create a program curriculum that meets industry standards. This program is designed to introduce individuals to the welding industry and to the employers that are seeking skilled workers.
