Decorah's city budget gets amended to allow for $2.1 million in additional spending

The Decorah City Council on Monday night approved an amended 2012-2013 fiscal year budget.

The new document calls for expenditures of $2,111,193 over budget.  But city officials say they're not worried by that figure.  $1,958,542 of that figure comes from special projects such as Trout Run Trail and MetroNet.  City Administrator Chad Bird says he expects almost all of that figure to be reimbursed eventually from grants and gifts.
