The Winneshiek Farmers Market held its first session of the season Wednesday in the 48-hour parking lot across from Decorah City Hall.
13 vendors participated in Wednesday's market. Manager Steve McCargar says he expects some 20 vendors to show up for Saturday morning's Farmer's Market.
Mc Cargar also expects six or eight new vendors during this season. One new vendor who showed up at Wednesday's market was Mike Bolinger from River Root Farm. Bolinger said participating in the farmer's market allows him to display a greater range of produce and to have more personal contact with customers.. "It's exciting because...it allows us to get to know people better," he said.
