Luther College has hired a new director of Collegiate Chorale and Norsemen. Andrew Last, who is currently serving on the voice faculty at Concordia University, Nebraska, will come to Luther in August, also working as an assistant professor of music.
Last is a 1997 Luther College graduate who has holds the masters of music in choral conducting from Northern Arizona University and is completing the doctor of musical arts degree in choral conducting from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln-School of Music. After graduating from Northern Arizona University, he has worked in Tipton and Cedar Rapids in addition to his position at Concordia.
Last will succeed Luther professor of music Timothy Peter, who has served on the Luther faculty since 1991. Peter will assume his new role as director of choral activities and professor of music at Stetson University in DeLand, Florida in August.
