Norwegian environmental official will be Luther commencement speaker

Norway's special envoy for international climate change will be the commencement speaker at Luther College on May 20th.

Hans Brattskar is a 1979 graduate of Luther College.  He currently serves as Director General for International Climate Policy in the Department for Climate Change and Pollution Control for the Norwegian government.

Luther Commencement also will include the presentation of the Jenson medal, honoring an outstanding member of the class of 2012. Selected by ballot of classmates, the Jenson Medal recipient demonstrates the ideas of the college through service to students and the community.

The 2012 recipient of the Luther Young Alumni Award will also be announced.  The award is presented to a Luther graduate who has demonstrated achievement, leadership, service, character and ethic that exemplify the college mission.
