A switch in the focus of decorahnews.com's stories about Winneshiek Medical Center

When we started posting news stories about Winneshiek Medical Center two months ago, we had two goals in mind: that people deserved to know what was happening at the hospital and that people deserved to have a voice in determining the future of the hospital.

For the past two months, our focus has been in explaining what was happening at the hospital, based on nearly 30 interviews with past and present doctors, past and present staff members, past and present hospital board members and other people involved in health care in Winneshiek County.

We've learned a lot in the past two months--and we hope you feel that way, too.

Now we're changing the focus of our coverage to concentrate on the future of the hospital.  Of course, we will still do our best to explain to you what is happening currently, but we'll also try to explain the future choices the hospital faces.
