Hospital honors its volunteers during Volunteer Appreciation Week

This is National Volunteer Appreciation Week.  Winneshiek Medical Center has over 100 active volunteers who are present in many areas, including the information desk, Auxiliary-run Gift Shop and at special events.

"Our volunteers are an invaluable asset to Winneshiek Medical Center," says volunteer coordinator Karla Bakken.  "They give of their time and talents for one purpose – to enhance the care provided to the community.  We are deeply appreciative of their willingness to serve."

A celebration is planned in May to recognize the 115 volunteers who gave their time to Winneshiek Medical Center during 2011.
