Has a kitten or cat ever been in the Decorah eagle's nest?

You've no doubt heard the rumor.  Someone swears they were watching the popular Decorah eaglecam and saw the bald eagles bring a cat or kitten to the nest as dinner for the chicks.

Raptor Resource Project Director Bob Anderson has denied the rumor in the past.  Minnesota Public Radio News has just put the question to Anderson once again.

Again, Anderson has answered "no"--"I have had many people ask about this internet rumor but, there was never a cat brought to the Decorah BE nest," said Anderson.  He added there are now several other eagle cams on the web and it is possible that one of these had a cat brought to the nest but for sure not the Decorah bald eagle nest.
