Two cases of Girl Scout cookies have been delivered to Winneshiek Medical Center Hospice patients and Winneshiek Medical Center staff members by Decorah resident Duane Bruening and his granddaughter, Katherine, the daughter of Keith and Amy Bruening of Decorah..

Katherine has sold over 2,400 boxes of Girl Scout cookies this year, including some to his grandfather.  Duane Bruening took the cookies he had purchased and he and Katherine delivered them to Hospice staff.

Winneshiek Medical Center Home Health and Hospice staff member Nancy Haberichter said, "Patients in the community were thrilled with the cookies.  A surprise like this really brightened their days. Staff enjoyed this gesture of appreciation as well."

When asked about her favorite cookie, Katherine confidently replied, "Caramel deLites!"
