A Decorah woman has received a suspended prison sentence on three criminal charges.
Christine Gray of 1000 Ridge Road in Decorah faced four criminal charges, including a felony charge of trying to illegally obtain the prescription drug oxycodone and three charges stemming from a scheme to take money from two Decorah residents.
Gray has been ordered to repay $107,400--the amount she allegedly took from the two Decorah women. She has also been given a $2,600 fine and a ten year suspended prison sentence, with a requirement to report to parole.
The State Division of Criminal Investigation, Decorah Police and the Winneshiek County Attorney's Office investigated Gray last fall after receiving complaints. She was taken into custody in October and charged with "Commission of Specific Unlawful Activity," "Theft in the First Degree" and "Fraudulent Practice in the First Degree."
The drug charge--for which she received a five year suspended sentence--was filed at a later date.
