Decorah sets a record high temperature for the seventh straight day

The temperature in Decorah hit 73 degrees Tuesday afternoon, meaning something happened that has never happened in more than a century.

Decorah's high temperature Tuesday set a record for the day, but it also marked the first time ever that record temperatures were set on seven consecutive days.  The record covers the time since data has been recorded for Decorah beginning in 1893.

The current seven-day streak breaks the previous six-day streak in Decorah, set in July 1901, the 20th - 25th, six consecutive days of record high temps. There have been at least four previous five-day streaks of record temps.
