Record high temperature in Decorah Friday for third day in a row

The March heat wave in Decorah keeps getting hotter

The National Weather Service Office in La Crosse says the temperature in Decorah officially reached 84 degrees on Friday.  That was five degrees warmer than Wednesday's and Thursday's record highs of 79 degrees and six degree warmer than the previous record.

Saturday's predicted high is 79 degrees, which would beat the record of 77 degrees, set in 1894.  Sunday's predicted high is 77 degrees, which would beat the record of 70 degrees, set in 1938.  Forecasters now say a slight cooling trend will begin Monday, probably ending the streak of record high temperatures.
