Decorah property owner Steven Olson says semis making deliveries to the Sears appliance store across from his property are still driving across his lawn in order to get access to the store.
Olson has sent a letter to City of Decorah officials, including police and city council members. In the letter, he reminds city officials that last fall the city street committee approved signs to be putup on Short Street between Pizza Hut and the Bluffs Inn that read "NOPARKING STANDING OR STOPPING." Olson says the signs were put up in response to his complaints about semis blockingboth lanes of traffic and coming to multiple stops in the middle of the roadwaywhile they attempted to back into the Sear's loading dock.
Olson claims he and his tenants have contacted law enforcement officers about the problem, but "Theresponse from law enforcement has been a very vague "we are aware of thesituation," and nothing gets enforced
His letter asks, "If this was your property and it wasgetting damaged time after time due to the traffic laws not being enforced infront of your home, what would you do?"
