Decorah reaches high temperature of 79 degrees on Wednesday

The high temperature in Decorah on Wednesday didn't just set a record--it smashed it.

The recorded high of 79 degrees was a full 12 degrees warmer than the previous record of 67 degrees set in 1990.

The National Weather Service office in La Crosse says record warmth is possible nearly every day into early next week as temperatures rise to readings more typical of mid to late-May.

Decorah could surpass Thursday's all-time record high temperature of 70 degrees, set in1995; Friday's record of 78 degrees, set in 1930; Saturday's record of 77 degrees, set in 1894; and Sunday's record of 70 degrees, set in 1938.
