Winneshiek Medical Center officials say no decisions will be made Thursday evening at a closed door session of the hospital's Board of Trustees.

A statement released late Tuesday stated the 5:00 p.m. Thursday board meeting would "focus on strategic planning for the organization including a review of updates to the management and professional services agreements with Mayo Clinic Health System."

Hospital officials said no vote would be taken following the closed door session: "This meeting is for information and discussion purposes only.  No action will be taken on any items."

Hospital officials also defended the prior practices of the board, stating "At all times, the Winneshiek Medical Center Board of Trustees has adhered to the Iowa Open Meeting Law while conducting strategic planning or making board decisions."
