Longtime Winneshiek County Supervisor Dean Darling announced on Monday that he's running to return to the board.
Darling says he will file nomination papers for a spot on the November ballot in District #1, where he will face Democratic incumbent Bill Ibanez.
Darling served on the Winneshiek County Board from 1996 until 2010, when he lost an election to Lonnie Pierce.
County supervisor districts have been reapportioned because of the results of the 2010 U.S. Census, so Darling will not face fellow Republican Pierce, but will run in the new District #1 against Ibanez.
