Decorah Library Director Lorraine Borowski and other librarians from across the state met with legislators in Des Moines on Wednesday afternoon to discuss issues affecting libraries statewide.
Borowski is serving as President of the Iowa Library Association this year.
"Library Day at the State Capitol" allowed legislators to ask questions of librarians and for librarians to stress the importance of state funding for library services. In the past three years state funding for Iowa Library Services and the State Library has been cut 37 percent--or $1.3 million.
